About the Property
After nearly ten years here, it's hard to imagine a better place to live. The neighborhood and location are truly the best, just a block from Harmons Emigration Market (we're there almost daily), with Jolley's Gift & Floral and Nomad Eatery close by. It's also an easy 5-minute walk to 15th & 15th, where Mazza, Casot Wine Bar, Caputo's Market & Deli, Tulie Bakery, The King's English Bookshop, and Mi Buena Vida are all right there and part of our weekly routine. This Tudor-style home blends timeless architecture with thoughtful, design-forward updates throughout, with interiors designed by John Martine Studio. The main level was renovated in 2021 with a new kitchen (Bertazzoni appliances), updated bathroom, new doors, base and case, paint, and lighting. The dining room fireplace was redone with a plaster surround and custom mantel, and the living room has a second fireplace with a marble hearth and plaster finish. A built-in breakfast banquette adds both charm and function, and a custom wardrobe enhances the upstairs kids' room. The basement was fully redone in 2024, with a layout that uses the space more efficiently and maximizes storage. All new mechanical systems were installed in 2023, including furnace, A/C, tankless water heater, and ductwork, along with the addition of a dedicated laundry room with a sink. The primary bedroom was expanded for a more comfortable layout, complete with a walk-in closet, double vanity, and a combined tub/shower wet room centered around a built-in quartzite tub. It's a home that's been updated where it matters, while still keeping its original character, and one we've truly loved living in.
